Foo Fighters producer Nick Raskulinecz will be the producer of the next Rush album that is currently a work-in-progress.The engineer will be Rick Chycki who worked on R30.
Anthem sources suggest a "late Spring release."

Raskulinecz's other credits include Velvet Revolver....

He did a fantastic job with Velvet Revolver, Matt Sorumīs drumming never sounded better! (also the bass)
Should be interesting...

Wow - can't wait to hear what it sounds like. R30 sounded great, so hopefully this next album will have better sound quality that VT - though i still love that album.

I'm actually becoming more dubious.
The claim was made on counterparts rush forum and repeated by Ed Stenger on his Rushisaband blog

but seems to be based on an interview with Raskulinecz in June 06.

The originator of the information claims to have phoned Anthem.
Why would Anthem confirm or deny anything at this stage to a casual caller?

The choice of producer makes me skeptical enough, that little nugget makes me even more so.

The Confirmation:Eric at Powerwindows Rush Website via a source at Anthem/SRO

So the Producer is NICK RASTULINECZ and Engineer is RICH CHYCKI

From Richard Chycki's Blog:

So the $10,000 question ... am I working on the next Rush CD?? Well, at this time I can't comment on the rumors but I'm sure the fine folks at Anthem will keep the loyal followers informed!

Even though I did not like Velvet Revolver, I have to admit it sounded good.  But new blood never hurts, and I am sure they chose him for a reason.  Too bad though, those Steven Wilson rumors had me wondering... Cry
