Wait...non-members can rate albums?

I'm pretty sure I tried a couple of times before I joined the site, and it never let me rate anything.

If they couldn't, a guy with 20+ accounts would be blocked, and we have noticed it doesn't happen.

You have to be a member to rate albums. Otherwise there would be no username next to the 5 star reviews.

I vote for getting rid of all... "just rates" I mean, only allow rating if you also add a review like it was before. It's the only way to get the reviews reliable again if you can't do nothing about banning his IP.  Also I'm wondering why those extra accounts haven't been removed... how many moderators are on this site? I'm sure they can all delete them faster than he creates them.

Looks like he was once selected for jury service to me, but I'm guessing too.

Well it might look like that to some.  OK, I'll trust the admins and I trust you will work this situation out.  I'm just worried about the site.

Imagine this situation:

"oh hey I want to get into prog rock and I hear progarchives is the place to be!... mmmm these albums by O Terco and Starcastle have very high ratings!! I will buy them..."

later:  "wow, those albums sucked.... I guess I'll forget about prog and stick to Justin Bieber and Nickelback"

No Dean, Portugal and Brasil only have jury for the worst crimes, is very restrictive, plus it has four  categories

1.- Oficial Judiciario - Officer of court
2.- Publidade - Publicity
3.- Revisor - Check up officer (Checks the resolutions for errors
4.- Enfermero - Nurse

He's not a judge, he was a minor  court officer in 2007

However he was still working there last September

Now we know where he finds the time to create fake accounts and thousands of ratings. He should be a very hard worker...   Thumbs Down

Fair enough. His actions do not match his professional status IMO.

That explains a lot

He has access to the central system of computers, so probably with his password he can access to many PC's of different users.

He probably has several IP's in his posts.

If we find one, we could send a mail to them telling what the guy is using the court computers for, Guigo can write the e-mail perfectly.

Iván

EDIT: The address found by Snow Dog makes it easier

There must be only one Central Judiciary Office in Minas Gerais - Brasil, so notifying the court in perfect Portuguese would be easier.

He's probably a computer technician assigned to the court, that's how he can send so many mails from one central office using different person's terminals.

Iván

How dumb of me, unless the guy is an idiot, he wouldn't be using his real name

Internet gives me more lights, Normally a guy so interested in Prog, has his name everywhere in other Prog sites and articles.

Most likely  José Natal Alves Queiroz is an innocent owner of one terminal , this guy is probably just a technician in computers with a general password, most likely in charge of checking that the workers don't use the computers for personal issues or have unauthorized programs.

We had one in Volvo and he created problems to one poor guy downloading porn from his terminal.

This guy wants José Natal Alves Queiroz in problems (Probably he hates the poor José Natal), and he expected us to discover this, so the poor guy is fired.

Iván
