Topic: KOENJIHYAKKEI "Viva Koenji" CD & Live at Posted: September 08 2006 at 22:20 |
Hi There, I figured it was time to stop lurking and actually post. My record label, Skin Graft has reissued Koenjihyakkei's second album "Viva Koenji!!" and imported copies of the new "Live At Doors" DVD. The street date on the CD is August 29th, but I'll send paypal & mailorders for it and the DVD out early to any board members. The details are at http://www.skingraftrecords.com Anyway, I don't want this thread to come across as a commerical. I'm writing as a fan myself, "Viva Koenji!!" has been a very difficult CD to get ahold of over the last few years.... Mark

I only have Angherr Shisspa and it's great! Definitely getting Live At Doors when I become familiar with their other albums Not every label is willing to support the underground, thanks for releasing all this stuff!

Hey Mark, I'm glad you finally decided to stop lurking. As this is
great news, as I have been very interested in see some live footage of
this band for quite some time.
Also I must commend you on a great record label. I have been listening
to a bit of Yowie (and other bands on the label) over the last little
while. Hopefully soon they are going to be added to the site, if
everything goes well.

I always wonder why Koenji Hyakkei's 2nd album is called 'Viva Koenji'.
This album is simply entitled 'Ni' by band itself.
弐 means 2. And it is read as ni.

Excellent news - Ni is one of Yoshida's finest moments (and there have been many in his career) and is the equal of the mighty Angherr Shisspa. Has there been any remastering, or is it a straight reissue?

Thanks The Miracle, everybody - for all of the kind words. Hi Syzygy: Viva Koenji!! was remstered but not remixed (like the recent reissues of RUINS Vrresto & Pallaschtom. Vrresto in particular is quite different from the original release). The original tapes of the album are gone. Yukorin: Yep! That's the DVD! It's a very nice package. Faaip_De_Oiad: It's a two camera shoot, and not overly slick- but for folks like me who'd never seen the Angherr Shisspa line-up live, it's a real treat. Black Velvet: Thanks again - Yowie is still searching for a replacement for their 2nd guitarist, so if there's someone in the St. Louis area interested in auditioning, contact them through their my space page - LOL. And - If anyone is interested in hearing some of the bands that have worked w/ Skin Graft over the years, there's a page of MP3's here: http://www.skingraftrecords.com/audio.html Mark
