SmileI recently reconnected with my Robyn Hitchcock collection, and I'm currently listening to the downright groovy compilation I made last night. Great fun: tight, catchy tunes, jangling, Byrds-like guitars, and surreal, yet intelligent stream of consciousness lyrics that are often darkly humourous/sardonic.Cool

Saw him live twice in the 80s -- terrific shows!

So, are there any other fans of this cult/college fave out there? (I tried a thread on the somewhat similar Jazz Butcher once, but got ZILCH in response -- but I remain hopeful!)

Who else digs this unique artist, of whom one critic once wrote: "Robyn Hitchcock is acid!"

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

Wow -- a response!Shocked

Well, Hemi, I haven't heard his solo stuff, but supposedly his later stuff, with full band (the Egyptians) is more fully-fleshed and developed. I have these, all good, but the first and third are especially fine. If you were to only check out one, I'd recommend Queen Elvis. Hitchcock, a very talented bloke, does the cover paintings on 2 & 4 as well, BTW:
