Band! I just did a search on thiswebsite and was suprised to see that we don't have a simple "Hey, you! Whats your favorite band?" thread! Well, this whole forum is dedicated to our favorite music, so tell us, whats yours?

Mines a tie between Pink Floyd, Early Genesis, and Kevin Gilbert.

The very fact you're unable to choose only one band by yourself explains why we don't have a thread you've looked for...

Excuse me, are we talking about favourite band in general, or favourite non-prog band? As everyone has been mentioning their fav prog band, perhaps this thread could've been put in the Prog Lounge... And Blowie is perfectly right in saying that there are hundreds of threads like this!

Too many good bands/artists to chose one among them !!

However, I really like the following artists (all genres melted) :
Little feat
the whole english blues-rock scene of the 60's/70's (Roy Buchanan, Aynsley Dunbar retaliation, Fleetwood Mac, Jeff Beck, Ten years after, Paul Butterfield blues band, John Mayall and the bluesbreakers...)
Jethro Tull
Roy Harper
Queen
Buddy Rich
the folk-country scene of the 60's/70's (Gene Clark, Poco, Gram Parson's international submarine band, Byrds' 'Sweetheart rodeo', New riders of the purple sage...)
Dino Valente
Diesel Park West' amazing first record 'Shakespeare Alabama'
Some neo-prog (satellite, violet district, IQ, Fish-era Marillion...)
Pink Floyd
Clannad
Fusion-jazz (dixie dregs, béla fleck and the flecktones, bruford, brand X)
and many more...
...but no favourite artist/band
