Due to my recent "Francophile" mood, I gave "Prelude a la Ruine" a first listen yesterday and I'm seriously impressed. It's never too late to discover something so good, but I could have done it earlier, since I knew about them for some time.
Strictly from a musical point of view, there is a lot of variety in what they do. It's a pleasure to listen to capable musicans juggling elegantly with diverse influences, and taking you on a ride full of surprising twists and turns. It's mainly progressive metal to my ears, but nothing ever seems forced or overwhelming, as they clearly master the art of playing like a cohesive ensemble, tastefully alternating tension and release. And the most beautiful part for me is that the music is highly melodic and emotionally charged at all times. There is a pronounced romantic edge to the story, as well as to the way the lyrics are written and sung - sensitive and passionate, depending on the mood of the music. Obviously, one might argue that French lyrics are limiting their audience, but I would say this is part of what makes them special and particularly charming.
I plan to get the other albums soon and in the meantime I pre-ordered the T-shirt that will be available from June onwards. I'm enthusiastic about these people's music and it would be really nice to see them live some time soon. Thumbs%20Up

I've got a grip to listen to this new album. It's still an early experience, but I liked the way and the style of it. I think all good signs leed to a concept beautiful rock and a shining star impulse. Clap

Fantastic album. My wife's and my favourite. They manage to get in their music a special touch that while complex keeps you hooked for its beauty. Les nouveaux Mondes is our second favourites and Si I is great as well.
I still to grasp Si II.

Should have gotten Les Nouveaux while I had a chance but now my source is sold out and this album is out of print.  Have Presages and it is awesome as well.
Biggles was in rehab last Saturday

Hi John,
You can find it here (assuming it's not out of stock and that it is not the one you meant):
http://synphonic.8m.com/country/france.htm 16$

There's probably other places too, but that's the only one of those I use regularly.

Avestin, I have been to Greg Walker but never bought from him.  Thanks for pointing that out.  May have to start up an account.

I am glad more and more progheads on this site are discovering French progrock sensation Nemo, I hope to see Nemo this autumn when they perform in Belgium and I expect lots of progheads from Holland, Belgium, France, Germany, Skandinavia and the UK, "allons-y!" Wink

Hello :)

thanks to all of you for discovering the band.
I just wanted to say that "les nouveaux mondes", our first album, will probably be reissued within one year, in a remastered version.
