I bought this album last week and have to say that I like it a lot.
It is quite amazing how a hard metal/goth type band is selling millions and breaking into worldwide charts.
They obviously have something special to be able to appeal to so many. The only other "heavy" band I can think of (that is really cracking the big time lately) are Iron Maiden with their new release.
What are your thoughts on this phenomenon?

Might buy it as an extra b'day present for my other half who likes them.

A song or two ( or three Wink) from them is alright. Amy Lee has a nice singing voice. I'm not so keen about them, though I actually like the song Torniquet ( not from the album in question I suppose).
I'm more at ease with Lacuna Coil.Smile

I think the new album is actually heavier than the first. The one slight gripe I have about Evanescence is the lack of guitar solos.
