Here. I will say it. I don't like Close to the Edge (even if I did give it 4 stars, mostly for influence). The song is decent but the rest of the album is plain stinker.
I now open myself to your vicious ripping apart of my flesh. Weasels.
Ripped my flesh...

I won't rip you apart. You don't like it, so what. Most of us do, so what. There is no accounting for taste.

I won't rip you apart either. I will salute you for daring to stand up
against the CttE maffia. I, too, find CttE overrated. I prefer Fragile
and Relayer. CttE is good, but hardly the best (as there can't be one
best album).

CTTE is a 5 star album, but it's FAR from being my favorite album ever.

In my opinion, CttE is only a five star album in terms of historical
importance, influence. The songs themselves are only worth four stars.
Funny how opinions vary.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...
Who cares?
We have seen about 39,487 versions of this type of absolutely pointless, self-absorbed, "I don't like this very popular prog classic" post!
Sorry "Folly," but threads like this are completely without merit, I think.
How about another "who's the best" or "X vs Y" poll? Edited by Peter Rideout - November 01 2006 at 15:18 |

It's not even my favorite Yes album. I like Relayer and Fragile more. |

Well, I've got a prog poll up about derivative music that's decent and a hardest song to interpret thread up in non-music prog loung that's also decent... Still waiting for my big inspiration. |

Oh. I have two In The Woods... albums and that track isn't on either one of them. Well, my life has been significantly improved by this increase in my knowledge.

I used to love CTTE, but it leaves me pretty cold now. Relayer's the only Yes I would think of listening to.

Well, it isn't on any of their studio albums, but they performed it live. It can be found on the Calledonian Hall(spelling?) live album release, however, it is easily the worst and most boring song they have written in their career, so don't worry about it.
Catchy refrain though.
