Decals just about wins for me - it does everything that Trout Mask Replica does in about half the time and with a lot more focus, although it's not as spontaneous sounding.

Shiny Beast is also excellent.

Out of those choices Doc at the Radar Station wins it for me. But where's Shiny Beast? That be my real favourite...

I'm not that familiar with Shiny Beast, that's why it is not on the list. Chris mentioned it also, so I'll give it another try.

You won't be disappointed - definitely one of the Captain's finest albums!

"Trout Mask Replica". If you would wake me up in the middle of the night and ask me "what is the best rock album ever made?", that's what you would get for an answer. Wink

"Shiny Beast (Bat Chain Puller)" and "Doc At The Radar Station" are excellent (and "Safe As Milk" is great on its own, too), but they are still in another league than TMR in all its beautiful strangeness (or strange beauty). I still haven't really come to terms with "Lick My Decals Off, Baby", probably mainly because what Chris said: it's not as spontaneous sounding as TMR.

I can't vote as my choice "Clear Spot" isn't listed. Oh well, of those that are listed I go with Safe As Milk.

Most any album with Gary Lucas, e.g. Ice Cream For Crow - whoops you missed that one too! BTW Lucas is across in Europe with Fast'n'Bulbous, the jazz oriented Beefheart tribute goup mid November - at Pizza In The Park London on the 13th and 14th
The best eclectic music on the Web,8-11pm BST/GMT THURS.

"Mirror Man" is possibly my favourite (the band actually extend their songs!), but i'll go for the concise approach of "...Decals" on this list.

I have not heard above albums Cry.

I only heard "Mirror Man Sessions" and "Bluejeans & Moonbeams" but neither of them impressed me one tiny bit. Sorry...
