Topic: John Myung v Geddy Lee Posted: November 05 2006 at 16:28 |
Have just seen 'Score' & 'R30' DVD's and couldn't help make a comparison between these two bassists. I was in awe by Myung's skill more so than Geddy Lee's.
What do you think?

Well, one influenced the other, so it'd only be natural that Myung would take Lee's skill further, so my vote goes to Myung. Geddy is an amazing bassist as well

You really can't hear Myung enough to put him ahead of Lee. Maybe, just maybe, Myung has nicer solos and fills (not sure here), but not being able to hear them puts him way down. What's the point of getting a DT concert DVD and the camera closing in on Myung's lightning fast finers when you can't even hear the stuff above the other members?
So I voted for Lee based on (mainly) the '76-'81 era of Rush.

I have to go with Lee here due to his composing skills, although Myung is superb bassist technically.

I'd take Geddy over that "little chinese girl" anyday.

I like Myung, but haven't heard any evidence that he's better than Geddy.

Geddy Lee for me, Myung is a monster player, but I like Lee´s thick bass lines better
