I’m ashamed to say that I’ve have owned this CD for well over a year and have not given it the proper attention it rightly deserved. It was only after witnessing first hand Credo’s terrific performance at Summers End that finally drove me to listen to this baby and I’m glad I have as I have been severely missing out! Credo are Mark Colton (Vocals), Mike Varty (Keyboards), Jim Murdoch (Bass), Martin Meads (Drums) and Tim Burrell (Guitar). Credo’s sound often compared to the likes of Arena, Pendragon, and IQ really do them no justice as I’m not a huge lover of those types of bands, but I can see how Credo could be easily overlooked and pigeon-holed among them. Predominantly keyboard led with highly melodic guitar solos and charismatic singing is a brief description of Credo’s sound and no way sums up what this band is all about. Rhetoric is Credo’s second album and the music content varies from a cynical insight into the world of pornography on the wonderful opener Skintrade . To the two-part From The Cradle… To The Grave , giving opposing views on love and relationships. Turn The Gun is about an assassination through the eyes of the killer and the second two-part Too Late… To Say Goodbye both dedicated to the horrors of the First World War. Great production and a tight-knit sound make this album a pure joy, highly recommended! http://www.myspace.com/credogb P.S - Originally posted on ProgEars

I saw them perform at Summers End too, and they were a great act. Musically they are in the same vein as the Neo-prog greates like Marillion, IQ and Pendragon, but I think they've got enough of their own charector in there. The singer Mark Colton style was suprisingly like tat of Fish, just wish I'd bought the album at the time.
