I, too, don't think she belongs on a progressive rock website, just wanted to get her name out there and maybe turn on a few listeners.

I love Tropic Appetites out of all I have heard. I am not sure if she has a place here, although she's progressive, experimental, and unique, I just don't know...

Though she didn't fuse her jazz to rock 'n rol per se, her progressive spirit and spiritedly progressive compositions deserve a listen to all those interested in proggy jazz fusion.  I've been stuck on her Tropic Appetites LP and her "chronotransduction" with lyricist Paul Haines....really enjoyable avant sessions with some avant jazz and fusion heavies (McLaughlin, Motian, Mantler, Cherry, even Jack Bruce).  She's fused her jazz to the whole spectrum of genres from classicall and funk to folk and pop...she surrendered mainstream popularity to stay true to her expiremental muse....a truely progressive artist.
