G'day all
Thought I'd introduce myself.
I'm 43, been into prog since I was 15 when I heard Yessongs at a party, Blew me away.
Also deiscovered Jazz Fusion at the same time (Billy Cobham's Spectrum).
I've recently discovered Spock's Beard and Porcupine Tree and I'm very impressed and they've rekindled my prog tastes.
I play guitar and dabble a bit on keys and bass. I've been a semi pro muso in the past but family has got in the way (and I don't mind at all). Besides prog and fusion I like pretty much anything with good playing and songwriting. I find myself drawn to music that is harmonically challenging but still melodic.
Music that's always on my playlist
Yes
Tribal Tech
Allan Holdsworth
Dixie Dregs
King's X
Led Zeppelin
Deep Purple
King Crimson
Steely Dan (sublime harmony, deceptively complex)
Doobie Brothers
Little Feat
Zappa

I live in Melbourne Australia
.

I'm pretty well versed with Gentle Giant. I especially like "In A Glass House" and the live album.
I have both on vinyl. I'm one of the rare people that loves Civilian. I actaully think that is where a particularly successful Australian band, Men At Work, got their sound.
Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

They're on my list to have a listen to. So much music, so little time.
I do most of my listening at work (tolerant collegues) or whilst on tne way to/from work via MP3 player/car systems. I'm looking to check out Drive Like Jehu  - Yank Crime, Spiral Architect - A Sceptic's Universe, Queensr˙che, PENDRAGON  - Masquerade Overture, "Ever" by IQ., KENSO, CARTOONE, DEUS EX MACHINA which are some names I've come accross recently.
Hoping to hear of some more from forum members.
