I have to trios that are very different prog bands that I think should be on PA....

1: Oysterhead:  I Believe all three members of this supergroup are on PA with other bands:

Les Claypool - Primus
Trey Anastasio- Phish
Stewart Copeland- Curved Air (At Least for a while)

Their music is very creative, with lots of odd rhythms and lyrics...I'm thinking "Art Rock"

and

2. Kings X:  Every bit as progressive metal as Queensryche, great band, I believe they have even toured with Queensryche & Dream Theater.....

What does everyone think?  Been discussed before?  Discuss now...

I think they have been suggested before, but I can't remember if they were accepted.

King's X are listed under Proposed/Debated Artists (to be discussed later) in the Master List - which means they are not a top priority, as they'd probably end up in Prog-Related. On the other hand, Oysterhead are in Art Rock, therefore likely to be moved in the course of our forthcoming cleanup of the section.

When I did a search for King's X I came across this forum subject so I decided to revisit it.  I don't believe that I had the ability to change the title to King's X however.

Has King's X been re-visited or reconsidered lately as a candidate for progressive metal?  Quite frankly, I was shocked  Shocked  to find out that they were not already in Prog Archives.   I saw that The Jelly Jam and Platypus were included (not sure the categories).  After all, they are on the Inside Out Music Label, which is the ultimate in progressive rock.   I love this music label and the output from almost all of its bands.  I guess it is what I call commercial prog.

As far as I'm concerned Oysterhead is at best a prog-related addition
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

As I posted in November, we found Oysterhead in Art Rock and immediately moved it to Prog-Related.

As to Kings X, they have been suggested several times, and at the moment they are in the Master List, in the section for additions to be debated. I think they were rejected by the Prog Metal Team, though. If they were to be added to Prog-Related, they should be submitted for approval to the Admin Team.

Wikipedia lists King's X genres as Hard Rock, Progressive Metal, not that Wikipedia is an authority of what is and what isn't progressive.
