What's next?

....Ayreon, that's what!

Here's the message from the official website:
ayreon.com

Finally, we are able to bring you some news about Arjen's next recording project.

At the end of September 2006, Arjen's new studio was finished and ready to use. The very next day, Arjen went in with his trusted little tape recorder, and papers with dozens of song ideas that he'd been working on for the past year.

He has been in his studio nearly every day (and night) since then, getting the ideas translated into songs. The musical ideas are so extremely varied that only one project could possibly hold them all: Ayreon.

Arjen has already been in contact with some very interesting and talented people to help create a new dimension of the Ayreon Universe. Of course, we'll keep you informed on Arjen's progress over the next months!

Thanks for the news. I'm looking forward to this one. I wonder who will be the guests this time.

^ We can only wait with great anticipation!! I think someone started a thread a while back on who should Arjen have as guests in his next project. It will be interesting to see if any projections are correct. Wink

I hope he has Magnus Ekwall (Pride), Marcela Bovio (Wife) and Akerfeldt come back. All 3 of them were downright amazing on THE.

I have a feeling this album will be amazing, simply because Ayreon has, as a general rule, gotten better with time.

As far as vocalists, I'm hoping for at least a couple of the following: Maynard James Keenan (please oh God, please), Steven Wilson, Jonas Renkse (of Katatonia, very nice voice), Daniel Gildenlow (can't remember if he's already been included), and Dave Mustaine.

Just kidding about the last one.

yes!  I'm so excited!  Go Ayreon!  I hope Arjen runs across Kahn from Kamelot.... that would be cool!
I once was cool, but now I'm cold. Can you please turn up the heat.
