Adrian Belew played on one of their albums, and Adrian Belew also played in King Crimson, so I guess that's enough for some people.

Remain in Light (on which Belew played, I think) sounds a bit like 80s King Crimson. That doesn't make them prog though.

I only have Talking Heads '77. And that's a big negative.

No, but if Rainbow can get on PA, they probably can too.
Remain in Light and Fear of Music are both great albums, though. |

they were a classic post-punk band, and post-punk did in fact incorporate certain progressive/art elements...but nah i wldnt call em prog.
all i can say is that if you like 80s Crimson then u will def love Fear of Music, Remain In Light (the freekin best) and Speaking In Tongues.... |

Another association is Brian Eno, of course. No, far from prog rock. |

I love Talking Heads. They're more prog than a lot of bands that are praised on this site. Their use of rhythm was amazing. Very artsy in almost everything.
Are they prog? In my opinion... yes.
I have suggested various artists that should be classified as prog before and was told I was wrong (in very condescending, arrogant words). So, they should be prog. Deal with it people and LET THE FLAMING BEGIN. Please, only insulting, condescending and arrogant people need apply but first, please explain why Talking Heads isn't prog and Triumph is.

Can I, can I? No need to explain why Talking Heads isn't prog and Triumph is. Neither is prog, Triumph is in Prog related. Could work for Talking Heads as well, but I don't know enough of them to have an opinion. Then again, trying to prove them prog could well be a Road to Nowhere, given the initial reactions above . Merry Christmas by the way. |

I love Talking Heads. They had some progressive tendencies, and were very progressive for a new wave band (they practically originated the genre). But I would say prog related at best.

Not prog in a 1000 years.
I think they were not so original - they borrowed a lot from Bowie - from their style to some ideas. They are an excellent band, though. |
