   Well, i've seen some statements in favour of Abacab and the thing is nobody brought any arguments to sustain their points of view.  I prefer Duke because it's got better song writing, better song structures (IMHO - I'm not an expert, just a listener), and I consider Duke (still) a prog album. I cannot say the same thing about Abacab which is a pop-rock album with just three great songs (Dodo/Lurker, Me & Sarah Jane and Abacab), the rest being decent pop-rock.
 
   Feel free to contradict me if i'm not making any sense.

I prefer Abacab, and I believe, and I may be alone, that it is still Prog.

Something about Duke just doesn't appeal to me...I can't figure out what it is though so my vote definitely goes to Abacab

Duke, easily. Last good album, yes I slightly prefer it over ATTWT. Abacab - I tried to listen to it with open mind, but I have found it as a terrible album. Title "progressive" song is extremely annoying and stupid imo.

IMHO Duke is the last Genesis Prog Album... Duke's Travel is one of the greatest pre neo prog pieces that I've heard and this is the reason why I prefer this album over Abacab and the rest of the 80's/90's Genesis albums... Ok there are other great songs on this album (Cul De Sac, Duchess and the beautiful ballad Please Don't Ask) but Duke's Travel/Duke's End is really amazing...

Without a doubt, Duke wins hands down.Clap
I agree about it still being a prog album. I was very impressed with it when it was first released.
If Hackett had been on it too, it would have been a near classic. It was the last album they did somewhat in the old Genesis vein. I could imagine Gabriel singing some of those songs, such as Guide Vocal, Duchess, Heathaze and Man Of Our Times.
Abacab was a big let down. Genesis were never the same again.

   I did such a poll, I think it was one of my first. Check the result out, resurrect it.LOL
 
  And since you ask, I prefer ATTWT to Duke. Big smile Because of Tony Banks's keyboards playing.Now that Hackett was gone, Tony remained the main attraction. he did a very good job on that1978 album. IMHO.
