I love all of those albums. I own half of them, and I LOVE the album art in 10000 days. Im also very fond of Opeth Ghost Reveries, which is unfortunately, not on the list.

From that list I prefer The Tangent (I wonder if they aren't better than TFK...) and S. Hackett.

I still can't get into the new Kayo Dot album.  To me, it doesn't sound focused at points, especially on the last song.  The first and fourth songs were a let down, both started off really well but never seemed to go anywhere, especially the last 13 minutes of __ On Limpid Form (soooo repetitive!).  It seems like the band has potential, but it doesn't show enough here.

^yes, it's very floaty and incoherent, and those tracks are too doomy for the more orthodox prog fan. it's just that I find that those are all good points :D

I don't have any problem with the atmosphere of the music being doomy or dark, but yes, I have a huge problem with it being incoherent.

Oh, you are absolutely right... Let's try not be orthodox people! Big%20smile

But let's stop calling people "orthodox" just because they don't like the almighty piece of art called Dowsing Anemone in Copper Tongue... At least give people a chance... Amybe if they don't like ANYTHING that's not "usual prog", well, call them orthodox, not only because they don't like ONE album, the so-called masterpiece.

Please. Tongue

Somebody earlier in this thread mentioned that a similar poll was made last year. Anybody care to give a link to the thread, I don't seem to be able to track it up myself. Was 2005 the first year such a poll was conducted?
