Today I've found the newest concept album of the italian contemporary prog band Faveravola titled "La Contea dei Cento Castagni" (2006) (The Shire of a Hundred of Chestnuts). The concept is about the journey of a medieval knight. It's a production by lizardrecords.
FAVERAVOLA is a band made by ex 70s musicians from Treviso - Italy (Le Tarme, Diamond Red, Opera prima). After 30 years they re-group and release "La Contea dei Cento Castagni". An excellent italian symphonic prog with strong medieval medieval-folk hints, with clear references to important acts such as Le Orme and Angelo Branduardi. But also to other important english bands as The Moody Blues. Vocals by Franco Violo ex Asgard and ex Helreid. Aldo Tagliapietra (Le Orme) also appears as guest giving his voice to the wise spirit of the river!!
A band to add to this site as soon as possible!! The album is very original for the vocal parts. Recitative spoken words alternate with singing.
Their own web site is under construction.
The cd is available also at BTF: http://www.btf.it/default.asp?ij=3&qa=p&qb=sc&xy=cl007&jk=10148&zp=104D&ln=E&opt=dettaglio
