“Michael Sadler To Take His Final Bow With SAGA In 2007

After lengthy consideration and a healthy amount of soul-searching, Michael has decided to announce his departure from SAGA at the end of the year.
Michael would also like to make it clear to everyone that his decision to leave is mostly of a personal nature! As far as the rest of the band are concerned, they have decided, for the moment, to keep all possible options open!

An open letter from Michael to the fans can be expected in due time.”

Some of the worst news I've heard pertaining to progressive music lately. I've been listening to Saga for 25 years now, and Sadler's a big reason.

Thanks, Michael. You've given me a lot of great music to listen to over the years.

been reading your posts, e-dub, and our musical tastes seem to go along
the same lines. i owe SAGA a lot for shaping my taste and perception of
modern music, and although i have become somewhat disgruntled with
their career lately, there has always been something about them, that i
will still keep enjoying. and, yes, 25 years (boy, i am getting OLD)
with me, too.

well, maybe their – PUN! – time's up. it takes a lot of guts to make a decision
like that and just move on.

Iggy, I've enjoyed their past two studio albums, so I thought they were making their way back to how their music used to be. A lot of what I liked about them was due to Sadler's vocals. And if you hear him today, he sounds just as good as he did back in the late 70's and 80's.

I've just ordered their first 3 remastered discs and looking forward to hearing these again. I had them on LP years and years ago, but never replaced the vinyl with discs. I just remember seeing "Don't Be Late" for the first time on MTV and I really took notice. "On The Loose" just sort of solidified my desire to follow this band. After Behaviour, however, I fell away.

Always good to see another Saga fan on the forum here.

well, that's probably a wrap then!

Also, there's a CD/DVD coming out here shortly of Worlds Apart performed in it's entirety. Sure wish we can squeeze one more studio disc out of them though.

yep, heard about that DVD – not that i have any use whatsoever for it.
but it shows quite well just what went wrong with SAGAs progress as
a band and their relationship with the fans. ah, enough of that, i
have complained about this already, so let's be positive.

i am quite certain that there will be one more studio album. SAGA are
known as quick workers (the expected quality is another issue) and
since jim crichton has his own studio and produces everything,
this would be an easy ride for them.

i'll definitely attend one more concert when i have the chance to see
michael off in style
