Hello.

I would like to add Spin from Brazil to this site, I tend to put this band in the symphonic prog genre.

Musea Records info:
SPIN XXI is a Brazilian Progressive rock band born in the Seventies. Its debut album is only released today in 2006. Released by both Musea and Rock Symphony labels, "Contraponto" presents five long tracks in the great tradition of the South-American symphonic school, reaching about 45 minutes of music. The musicians show a true mastery and a playing level that is quite impressive, as they surf from one complex passage to another with desarming facility. You may think of YES listening to their sound and the composing, even if the voluble singing of the dramatic Figueiredo KAKAO can't make you forget that you're listening to an original work. Some other borrowings are from GENESIS, jazz-rock or heavy-metal. To be discovered !

You sent me the info last Sunday Erik and I been checking them in the few free moments I had since then,.

We have a lot of work pending (Almost ready) and been out of the forum for a couple of days being that I'm helping this week in a Peruvian Forum for the Roger Waters tour next 12.

The good thing is that a lot persons from this Peruvian Forum are very interested in learning more about Prog (Most of them are Pink Floyd fans) and about Prog Archives.

About SPIN, for what I checeked it's OK, but I'm sending a PM to Bob and HT, to listen their opinions also.

After a couple of PMs exchanged with Erik who warned me about this  band, I gathered some infomation and discovered they grouped first in the 70s with the name Spin later changed to Contraponto - however it's quite sure that the 2 names were used simultaneously during a certain time (sic). Smile

The band regrouped recently and adopted the name Spin XXI.  They released an album in 2006, named "Contraponto" (an obvious choice). I thought I could help Erik  but I wasn't too helpful since he knew the whole history and much more. Wink

According to the label, Rock Symphony, their debut album is made of tracks composed back in the 70s but recorded only recently. Up to now I only heard a bunch of samples but from what I listened to I believe they deserve to be here (let alone Erik's recommendation). Approve

We offered Guigo to have it ready for Monday but HT worked extra time, we both agree it's OK even though I only could listen samples and he listened all the album.

So there's no problem with the Symphonic Team, go on with the addition.

Please notify me by PM when added to update the statistics, don't forget the band photo and the weblink..

Thanks

Iván
