I really must complain about the Carlos Santana page.
Undeneath his image states that he is from the United-States, even if he is mexican. In the biography right beside it, he is presented as a mexican, why would he appear as being from the US on the link ?
Well, even if he made most of his career, he considers himself as a true mexican.
His principal sales are disputed between the US and Latin America but it is only because the purchaising power in latin america is less than the one is the US. I firmly believe that if the purchaising power was the same, he would sale even more in LA than in the US.
His music may be a fusion of rock and jazz, but his trade mark is obviously the fusion of those elements with latin american rythms and instuments.
Besides, you can say that his lyrics are in english, but that can be considered mor as a response to the small market of music in spanish, specially in by the time he started. (today, thankfuly is not the case any more)
And finally, he makes a lot of work other than being a musician, he has several foundations in order to help third-world countries. There you can see his evident identity of being part of the third world, not from the US.
He cannot be considered a musician comming from the US, he is mexican, if not "latin american".
Thank you
Martin
