Living in Florida sucks! Not only because of the shortage of brain cells, but also because every prog band (and not that prog as Genesis) always ignore this part of the country!!

I empathize with you. Kansas City will get every single redneck band and country act, but we NEVER get any good prog acts. Dream Theater were here for the ToT tour, but bypassed us on the Octavarium tour.

Thankfully, Rush loves playing KC, so we're sure to see them on the upcoming tour. We need to hurry up and get that stinkin' new arena built downtown. We've got a 30 year old building that can't handle the massive rigging. Probably why we're not getting The Police.

most of what will be played at these shows is not prog. It will be pop rock.

No Hackett, no Gabriel, an emphasis on radio friendly material... I would hesitate to go even if they actually came to my city and somebody put a ticket into my pocket.

Got my Toronto tix today... I know they'll play a bunch of crap from I Can't Dance and Invisible Touch, but if they at least throw in Turn it On Again (sans nasty 60s medley in the middle) and Mama, I'll be happy enough. I bought the cheapest seats, though.

Having seen the Musical Box, I've already seen Genesis in the 70s anyway!

I have my tickets for the 14 th of september at the Montreal Olympic Stadium. I will bring my husband. He did not want to go at first, saying that is not the real Genesis because Peter Gabriel is not there, but now that we bought the tickets, we don't have anmything to loose to go at this event, the biggest in town that night. The next day, it will be the prog.fest with the Strawbs and IQ and many more. Great week end of music...

We also bought the second cheapest seats in the house for Genesis, but for the Prog.Fest, I bought a Gold one, with the VIP past. Wow!

I 2nd that also i live in jacksconville norh east florida it suck i have to drive 5 hours to see yes last year with rental car cuz my cars r not reliable im not rich either..

rush is in west palm beack june 15th but it hasnt been confirmed date yet i hope it is i never seen them...

genesis without gabriel hackett is suicide to me but i posting cuz florida does sucks for prog shows...

there is none if so rarely..

I Don't know.

I have two hypotheses about that:

1. They announced "the norh America Tour" , let's wait for the South America Tour dates, that should include Miami and Orlando.

2. South Florida is the capital of Geriatric Rock, 5 years ago I found that most of the bands on tour were musician from the 50's, now we are improving and most of the artists are from the 60's.

So we only have to wait 5 more years and we will see 70's prog bands touring South Florida. So I am already making plans for the 2012 Genesis Tour. that should come to Geriatric Venues such as West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami.
