Gnidrolog was a obscure prog band from Britain in the 70s. Although they never acheived the success of their contemporaries such as Jethro Tull or Yes they seem to have a devoted cult following in these parts. A few months ago, at Tower Records going out of business sale I picked up their Lady Lake album for only a few $. It took me until yesterday to get around to listening to it though and I immediatly fell in love with the track Soldier. Ship and Social Embarrasement are also excellent, however tracks 3-4 seem pretty mediocre to me and track 5 is a poor attempt at a commercial hit song. Overall I'd say its a good album, but not the great one some say it is. Does anyone agree with me or do I need further listens?

	They're a band i've been wanting to hear since they're often compared to Jethro Tull and Van Der Graaf Generator, two of my favorite bands.

	I think Lady Lake is a very even album. And an excellent one as well! Give it a few more spins, it will surely grow on you more!

	It might grow on you a bit more with further listens. That was the case with me. I recommend you to check out their first aswell. Slightly different, but very good. Might take longer to grow though.

	Lady Lake is a great album with a couple filler tracks. The title track is incredible.

	Their two albums are incredible in my opinion. Their first takes longer to grow on you but it's excellent too.

	The highlights of Lady Lake are incredible, but it's not exactly the most consistent album ever - stylistically as well as in terms of quality. In Spite... is more even, but murkier and a lot more obtuse. The track Lady Lake is pretty much superior to and more successful than any of 70-71 Van Der Graaf's more impressionistic excursions. And there's a crushing riff!

	they are great albums, but some discretion is advised on making early judgments, as their style is very eclectic

	I don't know the band too well but I listened to Lady Lake again today and I thought it was very good. The first song is amazing, but you're right. Some of the songs seem like filler, but it's not too bad overall.

	More listenings you'll do for sure anyway, but I'd agree that it's for star album .

	I'd say definitely keep listening as Lady Lake is on of the simply best albums of all time. I don't know how you could tag Social Embarassment as a commercial song, it's noting of the sort. If one song can be said to be commercial it's Ships.

	Why would a more classic and commercial song would be a filler anyway? If Social Embarrasment and Ship are commercial fillers, they are pretty good fillers.

	Wait maybe I had my tracks wrong, Ship, Soldier and Social Embarrasement I liked, the other 3 were mediocre or commercial fillers.

	I got to listen to Lady Lake & Gnosis. I think the classic is a great touch of music, while the feature of Gnosis extends to a good side of "reminescence time waste". In all, I tried out Gnidrolog out of a wonderful prog classic recommendation it has, and I wasn't displeased.

	If I were to compare the Lady Lake and ...Harry's Toenail albums it would be a close thing with Lady Lake winning by a nose. 'Ship' IMHO is no way filler.Take this track out of context and play it in isolation... A wonderful piece of music.
	Do 'The Stanley' otherwise I'll thrash you with some rhubarb.

	I am also at one spin of this album so far, and underwhelmed. But like with every prog record, I need to give it at least five spins to make up my mind.
