Topic: Blackfield II Posted: March 14 2007 at 23:38 |
At last... Blackfield II is on my hands... I took two weeks to listen very carefully all the tracks and my conclusion is that "II" is a little weak than the first... The lyricas are still amazing. I spit out some tears listening 1000 People, I Miss U, Once and My Gift Of Silence, but musically it's a little poppish and repetitive... Anyway the songs are OK, a nice album to listen any moment but something's missing and I still don't know what... If you could helpe me...
Best regards from Chile---

I like it, but it's a bit too poppy and samey for an entire listen staright through so far. I love the first 5 or so songs.

Wow, very nice to see your avatar, stonebeard!
Blackfield I and II very good, but I can't help ... I don't know what to choose.

Although I admit it is poppy, I really love this album and it's packed with emotion. I recently received my copy signed by Steven and Aviv (man, I'm such a SW fanboy :P) and saw them live two weeks ago. Amazing show from an amazing band. Not too progressive, but nevertheless great!

I think it's a good listen. Three or four moments express a sort of craft in doing the pop layout or the lyric surprise. Overall, I don't think it's exagerrated to call anything of it too broken. Eloquent music, fine mood.

You guys are lucky. I pre-ordered it from Amazon and on the release date of 3/6 they sent an email notice saying it was being delayed for another month so there's obviously some distribution problems going on since many others have gotten it from other outlets. I guess I'll get it when I get it. Can't wait, though.
