What do you think of the music of this progressive metal band?

I have two of their albums - Reality in Focus and Decoding the Soul. The reson I got interested in this band is that I found out that vocalist Corey Brown and guitarist Rob Johnson were in this project. I knew Corey Brown's vocals from Psyco Drama (a very good band actually), I enjoyed his singing a lot; I had listened and enjoyed a Rob Johnson solo album entitled Guitarchitecture. Magnitude 9 was therefore a very pleasant surprise and my logic worked and the two albums i mentioned are among my favourites.

I have the same 2 albums. They are OK, but I rarely listen to them. Maybe I should play them again, its been at least a year since I spun them last. By the way, they made a point on their website at the time of release of Decoding The Soul that their name had changed from Magnitude 9 to Magnitude Nine spelled out. Don't know what difference it makes, but there ya go!

Well I have the first two albums and I enjoy them a lot, specially the first one "Chaos To Control" which is a dynamic Heavy Metal album.

^ I agree

They're just some cliche filled combo of Iron Maiden and Queensryche to my ears.

I got into them for awhile .. then I realized that their not great,   good band but they are in a sea of cutting edge prog metal and they kinda don`t stick out as anything special.

I say if you haven`t got anything new to bring to the table ...please leave Wink

I'm not agree with The progtologist, with his sentence. What about Masterplan they are prog, to me not, they are something a la Helloween meets Brainstorm (power metal from Germany). Iron Maiden is prog, to me no, and many more. So if Masterplan or others are here why not Magnitude 9, is prog metal.

Me and Mike actually lobbied to get Masterplan removed. As much as I love Jorn Lande and everything he does,Masterplan is a pure power metal band.

We got Brainstorm removed, they are not here anymore.Same with Symforce.
