The classic first album by Solstice, now released with a 73 minute bonus
disc which includes the BBC Friday Rock Session from 1983 - the first ever

Riverside's music can best be described as a cross between atmospheric Pink

With 'The Hemulic Voluntary Band' Ritual, featuring Kaipa singer Patrik
Lundstrom, have recorded their most adventurous album to date. This fourth
studio album harks back to Ritual's self-titled debut from 1995 which is
still highly praised within prog circles. A must for fans of Kaipa, Flower

Following an extended creative hiatus, this influential prog act return

4. OTHER NEWS

Abel Ganz are nearing completion of their new studio CD 'Shooting
Albatross', We have heard some early mixes and it really is sounding great!
Alan Reed (Pallas) plays on the epic track of the CD and Chris Fry
(Magenta) plays a great solo on one of the tracks. An official release date
will be set in the next few weeks, so watch this space.

Credo are currently writing new material for their follow up CD to the
superb 'Rhetoric', and early indications are that this will be another
great release by the band!

5. PROGROCK.CO.UK ON THE ROAD

We apologise for not being at the Mostly Autumn gig at the Robin, Bilston
on 08/06/2007 as promised. Unfortunately the band refused to let us sell
any CD's at the concert (nothing to do with the venue) - a real shame
considering we have been promoting their latest CD through the
progrock.co.uk web site for the last few months! Also, I know a lot of you
have asked why we don't attend the Classic Rock Society gigs any more with
our stall. Unfortunately we have been told that we are not allowed to sell
CD's there either! Our whole purpose is to help promote prog rock wherever,
whenever we can, so if you know of any other venues that you would like to
see us at, please let us know, we would love to be there!

NEW STOCK / PRE-ORDERS

1. Magenta - 'The Singles' - GBP 9.99 [Due in stock: 21/05/2007]
Contains 14 tracks consisting of every song that has made up the band's
four EP/singles. Eight of these tracks have been specially re-recorded
exclusively for this release, and none of them have been available on a
full length CD before. Total running time 79 minutes. Rob Reed explains the
decision to release the album: "Most of these songs have been an important
part of Magenta's live set for several years now and they have evolved as
the band has performed them live.  We felt it was time to record and
release definitive versions with our current line up, which includes Dan
Fry on bass.  We hope that fans of the band that have our three albums, but
have not yet had the chance to hear these songs, will enjoy this equally
important aspect of the band's music. However, we hope that those that
already have some of this material will appreciate how these songs have
evolved over time and that you all love the new versions". Included on the
CD is Night and Day (originally recorded with Annie Haslam) which features
a complete lead vocal from Christina for the first time, plus Sunshine
Saviour, a new piece adapted from Children of the Sun from the band's first
album Revolutions. The three bonus tracks contain an additional 25 minutes
of music including the full 14-minute director's cut of "Pride".

Four Swedish motivated young artists celebrate music inspired by 70s prog

Kaipa, the band around mastermind Hans Lundin, has been spearheading the
Swedish progressive rock scene since 1975. Their latest work is superb and
combines progressive rock music with elements of folk and jazz. Features

(Ritual).

We have launched our digital download shop on www.progrock.co.uk! Following
our signing of the excellent Progressive band Solstice earlier this month,
all of the Solstice studio tracks from their three CD's, plus all of the
tracks from their Cropredy 'live in the studio' CD are available to
download at www.progrock.co.uk at great prices! More digital downloads will
be added very soon!

We did have some initial technical problems with our digital download
facility, but this has now been completely resolved and couldn't be simpler
to use!

THE PROGROCK CHARTS!

For seven weeks now, the debut CD by The Reasoning called 'Awakening' has
been our number one best seller. Featuring a host of great musicians
including Rachel Jones (ex Karnataka), Matthew Cohen (ex Magenta) and a
guest guitar solo by Steve Rothery (of Marillion), it's easy to see why! If
you are a fan, then you will probably like a CD that Matthew's previous
band Erasmus released called 'Voyage'. It features a brief vocal
performance by Christina (Magenta) and includes Rob Reed (Magenta) on
keyboards. A bargain at just GBP 8.00!

However, the competition is growing with the release of some excellent CD's

Hello, and welcome to another update from progrock.co.uk - the home of
Progressive Rock!

SOLSTICE

We are extremely pleased to announce the signing of Solstice to F2 Music. A
personal favourite of mine since the very early 80's, Solstice were part of
a thriving Prog scene in the UK, alongside Marillion, Pallas, IQ, Pendragon
& Twelfth Night, bringing strong folk influences into their melodic
progressive rock sound. Superb electric violin and guitar was the centre
piece of this excellent band. And the great news is that Solstice will be
playing live again later this year before going in to the studio to work on
a NEW Solstice CD for 2008!

In the meantime we will be releasing 'definitive' versions of the band's
three studio CD's - 'Silent Dance', 'New Life' and 'Circles' - with brand
new artwork and booklets, and each with a bonus CD containing rare demos
and special live tracks. The bonus discs will include all those previously
released on the very hard to find Solstice compilation CD 'Pathways', plus
even more! We will be sure to let you know when they are available! See the

EZRA PRESS RELEASE

Ezra are pleased to welcome Chris Jones (guitar) and Gareth Hill
(keyboards) to Ezra. In their recent press release, the band stated 'We
have ditched the sequencer and replaced it with real people. Those of you
who have followed us over the years will have seen various line-ups of the
band, some with keyboards some with sequencer, but it's the first time
we've had another guitarist in the band. There are plenty of guitar parts
on the albums that we can now play live for the first time. This now makes
Ezra a seven piece! Both have fitted into the band perfectly and played
their first performance on 23/04/2007 supporting Peter Banks (ex Yes).
