Not because Time Machine is the Italian representative, I'm sure. Wink

Anyway, not familiar enough with either to vote (and I expect I never will be).

Okay, I've listened to the samples of both and neither are musically my styles.  There are many diverse bands/ artists that I love from Italy and Brazil, but there's one thing in common with those I like, they sing in their native languages.  Choosing English reeks of blatant commercialism (trying to get a world market -- especially the US, I suppose).  And neither band from what little I've heard has a strong regional cultural flavours.  Homogeneous, could come from anywhere music.  And I don't hear originality/ distintness from either band.

Again, I haven't listened to much, so it may be that other songs are more innovative and distinctly their own, and draw on their rich cultural roots more.

What makes these bands stand out from the rest of the pack for others?  Assuming some think they both do.

Angra, but  only the "Matos Era"
Andre Matos is an amazing singer, he can sing with a beauty voice and can sing very aggresive with incredible high registers.
Holy Land is a perfect album, mixing brasilian music with metal and progresive sounds.

I'm not voting 'cause I haven't heard Time Machine. I just came to say that Angra's Temple of Shadows rules!

People know who Time Machine are? Seems really odd to throw them in a poll with a very well known band. In any case Time Machine is one of the most creative progressive metal bands I've ever heard and a personal favorite, so they get my vote.

I voted for Angra, great band, Holy land is a stunning album,  and not only this one, Fireworks is also great. But i like Time Machine also. Eternity ends is super album full of gret guitars and nice vocal parts.

Undoubtedly Angra is better ... Time machine it is very similar to many groups is not not original at all not ..

On the other hand Angra is very original and mixes very well the Latin paces with the progressive one.Tongue
Pure progresive Metal.

hmm...

I'm no real expert.  I thought Fireworks was a bit uninspired, and Rebirth OK Power Metal, but nothing exceptional...I've not heard the others and probably won't bother....

on the other hand, I purchased Time Machine's Hidden Secrets, and only gave it 2/5....

...so I don't really think I can vote...Confused
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson
