The Amber Light - Goodbye to Dusk, Farewell to Dawn is a fantastic album, well worth checking out. It currently has to be backordered though, unfortunately.

Checkout this new progmetal band "Floodline" I found there cd's on www.cdbaby.com   They sound like Opeth yet different, They have there own style going on. Here is a reveiew that i wrote about there new album entitled "beneath the waves", Peace.

 

Floodline is a very talented new progmetal band that I discovered on myspace. This is the band I’ve

been waiting to hear!!! I was first pulled in from there cover art and later found out that Ed unitsky

did the album art. Ed unitsky has done cover art for "The flower kings" "The Tangent" "Unitopia"

and many other great prog bands. Another reason I was pulled into Floodline's music is

Randy George plays keys on there new album "Beneath The waves". Randy george plays bass

with Neal Morse and Mike Portnoy for those who don’t know. Lets get back to Floodline, the

new album entitled "Beneath The Waves" is a well produced and thought out concept album that is very dynamic in the vein of Opeth. This album is in my top 10 prog metal albums for 2009. Floodline

Reminds me of Opeth yet different, They have there own thing going on. If Opeth and Alice in

Chains had a baby it would sound like Floodline. This is an amazing album from start to

finish, many twists and turns in between. I bought the cd at www.cdbaby.com but I think you

can find it elsewhere. Check these guys out at www.myspace.com/floodlinemusic you wont

Well, not surprisingly my old band is on cdbaby too. Technically we are now defunct. There is a little prog influence but it's mostly post-rock. Now I'm not suggesting anybody buy this, unless it strikes your fancy. But I guess it's worth a listen: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/antimatterfox

I used to be a CD Baby addict.  It starts by searching for bands you know so the site will pull up bands that (allegedly) sound similar.  I've discovered some pretty great stuff this way.

Not long ago I decided the cons outweighed the pros when it came to owning CDs so I mainly download all my music now (as long as it's high bitrate and non-DRM).  Fortunately CD Baby does that too!

I finally put my own thing out there recently.  It's currently being considered for inclusion into PA but you're welcome to check it out:
