It's a sad state of affairs when Lithuania can have a prog fest, but I have to drive over a thousand miles to see one prog band play here in the USA. Confused

P.S. I mean no disrespect to Lithuania in the least, I'm just comparing populations and the state of the music scene in the USA.

We don't have prog fest - we have enthusiasts who organize it.

Oh.. it's a pity that I'll be already in Czech Republic in that time and not in Latvia. Sounds really good, nice to see people with such enthusiasm for that music in Baltics, because prog has hard time here as I see. I wish to be there, I like also the country (as well because of one beautiful lithuanian girl, that I'll miss so much.Cry)

In 2005, I went on a cruise on the Baltic Sea. We stopped in Estonia and visited Tallin. We also went to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helzinki, Oslo,Rostock ,  Berlin, St-Petersburg, and Dover.

Those countries are magnifiscent; very innovative in many things, very creative ( social things, arts, etc...)...

Lituania has the chance to be part of those nice countries. Glad that you have a prog.fest.

Don't forget to post pictures and to make a review.

This is excellent news, I am almost definitely coming!

Listening to your favourite kind of music, getting drunk AND enjoying the nature of a fellow Baltic state... what's not to like? I'll make sure I follow all the updates regarding the show. It's a pity no 70s legends agreed to pay Lithuania a visit.

Crap, I totally forgot about this, with me entering the university and all. How did it go, if any spectators present here?

Here's a few photos: http://public.fotki.com/banditaz/koncertai/balticprogfest2007/

Well, the fest was really wery great (thans to org.), but there was so little audience, about 100-150 (?) without musicians... Maybe to little advertisement or to little our country for this kind of music?

From the first day I can mention "KAFTAN SMECHA". Realy great the theatre of the absurd show! Even took their self-burned DVD.
Also JOHN YOUNG's music was great, but lyrics... Ghem. Looks a little bit childish

Second day's favourite undoubtedly were ARENA.
And there was no Kostarev Band due to their drummer broke his hand or something like that.

Big losing for organizers, but I expect similar festival next year...

Well, I don't think it's so much about the lack of advertisement. It's just that the Lithuanians dislike rock, and especially when it's accompanied by some unknown strange word like 'progressive', it's a guarantee that no listeners will come.

Besides strongly disliking both Polish bands (why not Riverside?? ), I think the festival was great and I'm looking forward to next year.
Big thanks to organizers
