Next Party - Grobschnitt Reunion 2007

17 years after the Last Party concert in December 1989 GROBSCHNITT is now continuing the band story.
First of all they had a successful gig on the 18th of May.

Clap Now all we need is a rerelease of the remasterd Solar Music Live CD, so I can finally get a copy. Hope they come somewhere near the German/Dutch border so I can go see them.

Thanks for the update!

EDIT: any indication why Eroc is not part of the reunion?

I am a huge fan of the Seventies Grobschnitt sound, I will be there if there are going to tour in Germany and I hope they will visit Holland too Approve  I own a video of the legendary Rockpalast concert in 1977 (on German TV but also broadcasted in Holland), my absolute highlight of German prog Clap

I could see them live for three times - twice in the 70s - very amazing!
One gig in the 80s - good but not so inspiring

The 70s with EROC have been the better times of the band Clap

No EROC!!!!

No LUPO!!!!        This is NOT Grobsschnitt for me AngryAngry

No MIST!!!

There is only Wildschwein from the original line-up!!!!

Asof why EROC is not there, the former drummer is quoted ""nobody asked me!!''

My dreams are fulfilled: Eroc is in the process of remastering 14 Grobschnitt albums, he finally got the rights back. In June he's planning to release the first three albums and the rest will follow later.

febus: Where did you find that quote from Eroc, it's not on his own site?

I don't remember the site but it was a musicsit  forum where EROC talked about the remastering of the Grobschnitt collection and the fact he was not invited in the ''Grobschnitt'' reunion.
I think it was a link on someone post here onPA. Sorry i can't help more.

For me too will be a dream to see Grobschnitt live, but it would had to be the real Grobaschnitt.Wink

Thanks, I'll have a search around. Eroc is a great guy, I had a brief e-mail exchange with him last year about his album Changing Skies. The CD release of that album is impossible to find, but at least he helped me to the info needed to include it in the PA archives.

As for seeing the real Grobschnitt live, that's a great idea, and also impossible now that Popo is not there anymore. My first response was rather quick, but later I noticed indeed that only Wildschwein (and hang loose Tony Moff Mollo) are there - I hope this is not just a way for Mr. Danielak to make some quick money....

i didn't know for POPO, but Milla Kapolke is good and can be part of a real Grobschnitt reunion. I just listened to him on the ''grobschnitt story vol1'' and he is really GOOD.Si idon't have a problem with him in the band

About making money, i wouldn't go that far as i don't know if there is really money to be made with a ''grobschnitt'' reunion, especially without LUPO and EROC. But i am not the financial managerSmile

This was on Progressive Ears. But the threads disppear and eventually get deleted, so normally it is all lost.
let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Even not being the complete Grobschnitt, the news are outstanding... maybe with Eroc and Lupo we should have hope that nor everything is lost. Long Live Grobschnitt!

Going now to play again Jumbo & Rockpommel's Land!!! Wink

Also Just listened now  to POWERPLAY/sOLAR MUSIC on ''GROBSCHNITT the story vol1''........37 minutes of utter brilliance, power, creativity at its best.
Lupo is wonderful and a great KAPOLKE!!!Thumbs%20Up
