It's the name of the new Mars Volta album. Anyone else excited?

Not at the moment, Goliath was a character not a place - so more deep and meaningless lyrics on their way I assume

Bedlam means a state of anxiety or chaos, so this phrase makes perfect sense. A state of choas in a giant. Sounds big.

I dig this band a lot. Probably my favorite of the newer big prog bands.

As long as it sounds good to me, I'll be happy.

Since I bought Amputechture I guess I should be. Even though it annoys me that so many modern groups take 3-4 years to release an album (why is that? Most '70s groups got one out nearly ever year), I think it's too soon. They sounded tired on Amputechture.
I guess the title shows that the lyrics aren't going to improve any. :(

I hope they bring back a bit of the latin influences. Amputechture was
a bit of a let down. I want another FTM. But yes, i'm very excited. One
of my favourite bands.

Amputechture was their best album to date, no doubt. There's a lot less noise (sound effects and random banging on guitars) and a a lot more emphasis on musical precision. I hopre this new one is more like Amputechture than FTM. which has WAY too much useless on it.

I liked most of the "useless noise" on Frances. It was the big jam suite I could have survived without. Still, there's always _something_ worth listening to on a TMV album and I'll anticipate it quietly.

The noise on FTM was a bit annoying, but the music in-between the noise
was for me far better than anything else they've done. I liked the fact
that it was more bombtastic than the rest of their albums. And i loved
the use brass instruments that popped in here and there(it did on
Amputechture but nowhere near as much)

the new album will have a storyline like deloused and ftm... i thought amputechture was a disappointment, and I have read on the comatorium that the new album has shorter songs and more of them

tired????? no way
never! you're right Ghandi2 they're getting better and better.....with Amputechture they demonstrated that isn't necessary to take 3 or 4 years to make another excellent album. With The Bedlam i expect another masterpiece (please!!!)

they try way too hard sometimes. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoy their first 2 albums, and really want to hear the latest one

I agree. They used a lot more discretion, and a lot more orchestration of instruments. I can listen to the whole thing sitting down, without advancing the track to skip the excess noise. For some reason people don't seemed to be as stoaped about it, but it really is my favorite, pound for pound (or minute for minute I should say).
Deloused didn't have a ton of noise, but just seems much more depressing. I could totally see myself slapping some punk who screwed me over with Viscera Eyes playing in the background. (Sorry, marital problems... )
30 seconds of noise is cool. 3 minutes is way too much, especitally if it doesn't develop into anything.
