Sorry, I really can't remember which thread someone asked me some things about Änglagård and the impact that Cathedral's "Stained Glass Stories" had on them...and I said I'd mention it to Tord when I saw him. 
 
 
Well, I saw him 2 days ago or so, and I asked him for you (whoever you are, sorry, I forgot!!), and he said that it had quite an influence on them, but mostly on their second album, not so much their first.  And then Peter piped up that it also had an influence on Anekdoten.  (Yes, it was after work beers, so butting in was bound to happen LOL), and then he also said that there was a particular song from Yezda Urfa that had a profound effect onthem as well, but he couldn't remember the name of the song offhand. 
 
Then I told him it's so hard to find Änglagård albums around these days, I only see "Buried Alive" these days, and he said that perhaps next year they can look into re-issuing some Änglagård stuff.  So they do know about the lack of CDs out there and they intend to eventually do something about it.
 
Anyway, sorry for making a whole thread about it when I could have just replied to the question wherever it was, but I did a search and nothing came up. Confused
 
I'm not very good with searches methinks.

As mentioned to Firefly earlier, I believe Anglagard were also influenced by Schicke, Fuehrs & Froelich, so if you see Tord again, do ask for me!

Also, that's wonderful news about the possibility of re-issued albums.  I think they will have plenty of buyers too, especially if they make the packaging special, or add bonus material.  They'd sell even better then!

Not much to do with the whole Cathedral Anglagard thing... but man is Anglagard one hell of a band!!!

I've only heard Hybris and I like the last 2 of the 4 tracks a lot...the first two seem to drag a little for me for some reason

In the early Nineties I was working for a Dutch progrock magazine and I remember vividly our excitement when we received promo CD's from the new Swedish progrock movement, inspired by early King Crimson and loaded with Mellotron Thumbs%20Up Because of my dedication to that unsurpassed instrument I was the lucky one who got Vemod by Anekdoten and Hybris by Anglagard to review, these CD's are still in my collection and it appears that I am still lucky for that Approve And if you want to discover the main source of inspiration for Anglagard their album Hybris, just listen to SFF their album Live 1975, I was stunned when I heard the huge similarities, almost in detail!

               Indeed Angelo, "strakke actie", excellent 'turbo language' LOL !

well you could count me in for sure...I've been hunting those albums for years and never owned one yet.

I hope Anglagard will release the entire video footage of the annual USA progrock festival Progfest '93 on DVD, it's Mellotron Heaven on stage Approve !
 
By the way, I am still wearing a selfmade Anglagard t-shirt with a print of a promo photo from a Mellotron M400 in the middle of a forest, I will wear it during the Dutch Symforce Festival on September 15th, see you there Wink !

I also pressed them by e-mail about the lack of the CDs. I got a response saying that "maybe soon" they will try to reissue their albums.

it did not sound too hopeful, and therefore I had to buy both albums on ebay. The most expensive CD aquisition so far. Shocked

Well, the subject is Änglagård, but I can tell you that a brand new live Paatos LP has just been released 2 days ago, called "Sensors".  And if you have anything you want to know, just PM me, or whatever.  I'm nobody important or anything like that, but I'm a good friend of Stefan's and somehow find myself in company with members of bands like Paatos, etc.

Luckly i got both albums before the OOP, i think i played them like 2 or 3 times, burned them and then seald them, havent played them again, they´r my precious!! lol Big%20smileThumbs%20Up

By Cathedral so you mean the doom metal band headed up by ex-Napalm Death member Lee Dorrian? If so, that's not something I ever considered
 
I somehow stumbled across Hybris by some very happy fate, but I would love a remaster and maybe some bonus tracks. I'd pick that up in a second.
