Just came across the following at the official Glass Hammer website:

That is nice news, Cinema, but most of all must tell you I love your Hayao Miyazaki inspired avatar!

That should be great. The one thing I have always felt Glass Hammer was lacking was a really strong vocalist to take the lead, with the exception of Brad Marler on Chronomotree and Karl Groves on the live DVD. It will be interesting to see how much Anderson sings for them. I've always loved their albums, and the music, but often the vocals leave a lot to be desired. Hopefully Anderson will take the lead on most of their stuff. That would be awesome.

This sounds pretty awesome!!! Beautiful cover art. I liked The Inconsolable Secret, but hope this new one sounds a bit more like Shadowlands.

Interesting news.I will certainly be looking forward to this. Hopefully it will bring some well deserved attention for one of the best symphonic keyboard bands around.

Just read on their site that the album has 6 songs and clocks in at over 69 minutes. Must be a beast or two on it.  And a couple of fanboys got to listen to it early and think it is better than chocolate cake with a Grolsch chaser.

has been well over two years since the release of their critically
acclaimed double CD, “The Inconsolable Secret”. At last, Babb, Schendel
and company are back with their tenth studio release, “Culture of
Ascent”.
“South Side of the Sky” by YES opens the door to ‘Culture’s’ lyrical
world of icy landscapes and towering Himalayan summits. The trancy,
trip-hop opening arrangement for ‘Culture’s’ first track soon gives way
to full-blown progressive-rock bombast, featuring all the trademarks
that have kept Glass Hammer fans loyal and begging for more.

that’s not to say that Culture of Ascent doesn’t take Glass Hammer into
new territory. The performances of French guitar-virtuoso David
“Shreddy” Wallimann prove the perfect marriage for the highly
technical, prog-metal drumming of Matt Mendians who returns for his
second GH studio album. This, along with cutting-edge technology and an
arsenal of new sounds from Babb and Schendel, gives “Culture of Ascent”
a modern edginess– something unusual for a band well known for its
mastery of analog gear and seventies retro-proginess.
“Culture
of Ascent” will be released on October 23rd in a full-color digipak
with custom art by Michal Karcz, and audiophile mastering by Bob Katz
of Digital Domain. It’s six epic tracks total over sixty-nine minutes.
Glass Hammer’s tenth studio album is a must for fans, and sure to be a

A cover of South Side of the Sky. Should be interesting after what they did to Fogelburg's Longer. And Carl Groves from Salem hill is listed as one of the singers.

There are some samples up on the website now as well. The SSOTS only had female singing, didn't hear Anderson or know if he is the other tracks.
