I can't wait.
When the world is sick
Can't no one be well
But I dreamt we were all
beautiful and strong

The latest from the official PT site:

08-08-2007

Porcupine Tree release a new EP in September called "Nil Recurring". It will feature 4 tracks (just under 30 minutes of music) that were written during the Fear of a Blank Planet sessions, including the title track featuring Robert Fripp on guitar, and "Cheating the Polygraph", which was premiered on the 2006 tour, but subsequently left off the Fear of a Blank Planet album.

Full track listing is:

1. Nil Recurring (6.08)
2. Normal (7.07)
3. Cheating the Polygraph (7.06)
4. What Happens Now? (8.23)

Surround sound mixes of the new EP tracks will be included on the definitive Fear of a Blank Planet 5.1 DVDA edition. This DVDA will also include a special Fear of a Blank Planet introduction short film made by Lasse Hoile, and the video for the title track.

Both the Nil Recurring and Fear of a Blank Planet DVDA will be officially released on 25th September, but the PT Store will be taking pre-orders soon.

Kind of pisses me off here - I spend a crap load of money for the special edition FOTBP disc and now they are coming out with a definitive special edition.  What a racket.  Still, I am going to have to save up for it.

Hey Steve - can't you just do this to begin with?

This is why I knew not to buy anything but the regular edition of the album first, knowing there was still at LEAST one track they would still release (being "Nil Recurring").
I think because I already have the regular album that I might just get the EP of the new tracks because I don't have a need for any DVD-As (I don't have any of the other PT DVD-As except Stupid Dream, as it was re-released with both versions anyways).
At least SW is giving those of us with the regular album the option of buying just the new tracks instead of shelling out for the whole album again WITH new tracks.
I'll get the Definitive Edition if it has a regular CD stereo mix, but a 2-CD set like that will probably run about $25-30, I'm sure.

I know what I like and I like what I know. I will choose a path that's clear, I will choose free will. If I die tomorrow, I`d be alright because I believe that after we`re gone, the spirit carries on.

Porcupine Tree has released a sample teaser of the new forthcoming EP Nil Recurring on their My Space web site. Once again the sounds coming from Steven Wilson & company are simply amazing. Just listening to this gave me goosebumps!

I'll probably buy the EP and the vinyl. And I do say I love the EP preview, perhaps more than the FOABP preview!

Hopefully I can buy the actual disc itself, unless they decide to do the Store-download route. Either way, this WILL be mine!
Thanks for the news-post!

Just a quick bump to inform those of you who've not been able to get the CD version of Nil Recurring that it has been released in MP3 and FLAC format with printable artwork by Burning Shed
