There is a band from the UK called White Noise. I haven't been able to find them on this site, but I think that a great number of you would find an interest in them. If you want to check out more about them here's a link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Noise_(band) They have odd time signatures and long compositions, so I think they would fit nicely. |

They've been suggested before, and I believe they should be added to PA.
I have heard "An Electric Storm" and that album was ahead of it's time. |

I thought Dick Heath had included them a while ago! They must be on the listen somewhere. I'll see what Philippe has to say about it!!

let's just stay above the moral melee

White Noise have a track called "Your hidden dreams" on the recent prog CD given away with Uncut magazine. Sounds like something horrible from a 1960s television program to me, but what do I know?

NO on my account, this music is far from what we're looking into (if that means that it is weak or untypical for the genre, you figured it out)
I've listened to White Noise "An Electric Storm", it is basically a entire work of cinematic composition, going from melody samples to even some mild pop-psych vocal ideas - two pieces make an sexual passion. The does contains a small bit of sound emulation and "kraut" arrangement, but it's not enough at all. The further albums of White Noise use the electronic sense and full method, as a music generator, but nothing harder or more serious than Tomita synths - probably some Reich or Riley influence, but that is it. Short songs, indifferent quality, very unimpressive electronic movements. Mainly the music is light electronic, soundtrack music or very disarrayed sound essence. |

Would it be more likely that they could be added to Proto Prog?? |

Just wondering, maybe PP is not really a best situation after all.
I find it a very experimental psychedelic album, I think WHITE NOISE could go under the Psychedelic/Space Rock banner. But Electronic Prog could be the appropriate genre because a majority of the albums I think are electronic, I have heard one track from White Noise V and that seems to lean on the more dancey-techno way, and quite experimental. I'm reckon White Noise could fit into into any of the genres mentioned. |

Good luck with Psych, Proto or Related then, I have hard time thinking they're progressive, but for sure, they ain't going in electronic. |
