Many times!!! Family took a drive to Disneyland from Seattle once, I listened to Rush for about 22 hrs straight. Flight to New Zealand I listened for about 8 hours, I think I dozed off at one point LOL.

80's albums are excellent...........

Pretty incredible! Such a musical adventure. Better than any therapy on earth.
I really do like them all....even Presto. :)

Also. Can't say I've done 22hrs of rush straight, but I really dig your style. Man being in your car would be awesome.

If doesn't measure up as a rock album honestly. It's just boring.

And it's FAR from being anything prog or progressive.

^ Prog/progressive does not matter with CA...its a concept album with a pretty darn good story line. I agree some songs drift a bit, but as a concept it flows well.
The Wreckers live was tough to sit thru...it is not a good live song! Carnies was surprising good live, it made me appreciate that song more.....as well as others.

I wasn't really captivated by his lyrics though either, and for me - a concept that "flows well" doesn't make an album any better. :\

I appreciate a story but i'm listening to an album not reading a book.

I didn't think the concept was that great, honestly.  I liked the lyrics to Halo Effect.  Otherwise, I thought they were good, but rather unremarkable.  And the blatant non sequiter between Carnies and Halo Effect really bugs me.

The riffs are one of the things that make the album for me, I guess.  Simple, but effective and not cliche.  That, and Geddy's voice sounds awesome.

I recently returned from a road trip, and the only CD's I brought for the car ride were Rush's 2112 -> Hold Your Fire. It was a marvelous ride. Thumbs Up

I listened to Rush all day while pulling up lino and heat gun work over the wooden floorboards. Started with Signals to Vapor Trails, then moved onto all the live albums...My wife actually put up with it as I has previously played Ayreon and other prog metal the previous day hehe.

Nice work marshy!!! Any major standouts as far as songs go? I've always felt Countdown, Losing it, The Camera Eye, behind the Wheels, vital signs, show don't tell and The Weapon are pretty underrated. Nobody ever talks about how good those songs are. :(

Some time before S&A came out I listened to the entire studio output from the debut album to Feedback with my girlfriend during one glorious day. Needless to say I married that girl later on.

I wish I could have fit more in my console, but that's all that fit (and I didn't want to have CD's sitting around elsewhere). There are SOOO many great songs throughout this period. The Weapon is one of my favs from Signals, definitely agree about the underratedness. Spirit of Radio is always great to here on a long road trip, and I don't think that song will ever get old for me. Between the Wheels is also another dandy. I'm really starting to dig side 2 of Power Windows and Hold Your Fire now too.

All-in-all, fantastic trip, even though my buddy and I talked most of the time. Thumbs Up

Nice. I love how the spirit of Rush lives in your car. Actually, just recently a very good friend of mine had a birthday and I gave him a copy of MOVING PICTURES, so he could have a nice road trips in his car. I told him that the real gems on the moving pictures album is The Camera Eye, Vital Signs and Witch Hunt. He has never heard those songs before! Gotta spread the prog love. :)

Witch Hunt is one of my fave Rush songs...especially lyrically...

Those who know what's best for us must rise and save us from ourselves."

It's official boys and girls. Rush have their own Canadian postage stamp.
Ok. What other prog bands have their own postage stamp in their own country?
This is pretty awesome. And every time I send out a letter, you know it gonna be Rushed. Lol. Love it!

Moving Pictures in general is one of his best albums lyrically.  Limelight is a great piece of poetry.
