Yes! Issue more new Rush albums soon. The longer compositions sound incredible. The older Rush gets the better they sound. I am so proud to a Canadian and a long time fan of Rush. The band has never disappointed this fan. Have a happy new year 2012.

Well, I've just found this thread and I'm must say that I'm glad.

If it were not for Rush, I would not be on this site, or even into prog. I always had a taste for heavy music and long songs (my favorite songs from bands were always the obscure, really long ones Smile). I first heard Rush through either Tom Sawyer or Fly By Night, I don't remember which. Initially, I got into them because I saw a picture of Alex and I thought that he used cool looking guitars. Ah, a young guitar geek am ILOL. I bought Moving Pictures and it quickyl became my favorite album (though it has been displaced, it's still one of my favorites). Next, I heard 2112 and was completely in love. I even listened to it 3 times in a row one day, and now I've finally got some of my friends to become Rush fans (but I still haven't got them to listen to more prog, oh well Unhappy). Permanent Waves was actually the soundtrack to my Christmas 2010. Then, I heard Yes's Roundabout through a Rush radio station, but that's another story...

Last summer, some friends and I saw Rush live in New Orleans, and it was the best thing I had ever seen! From the opening, through the end, it was stunning, and I cannot wait for the new album!!! RUSH FOREVER!!!

Amen!  My first Rush song was The Spirit of Radio (I heard it on some classic rock compilation disc).  I got 2112 after a friend recommended the rest of the band's catalog to me.  After the first listen I was skeptical.  After the second listen I was intrigued.  After the third listen I was hooked.  It was listening to Rush that taught me to write songs and compose my own music, and eventually Rush (and this site!) became my gateway to prog.  Even after discovering loads of new music through this site, Rush is still my favorite band.
 
I think this has already been mentioned, but it deserves to be said again: every Rush fan should check out rushisaband.com.  It's a great fansite with lightning fast news updates on everything even remotely related to the band.  Ed (the site owner) must know more about Rush than Alex, Geddy, and Neil themselves!

I want to see Vapor Trails live; I doubt they'd go for that idea, but at least they could play a few of the songs.  The album was sadly neglected on its own tour.  But honestly, I'd rather them play all of the new album on the Clockwork Angels tour than take up slots for new material with old songs.  I love to hear the old stuff, but in my opinion, if you're going to tour in support of an album, you should probably play the new album.

Just read in this month's Classic Rock magazine that the album is still being recorded and has yet to be mixed.  The scheduled release is May 2012

For Christmas, I got my father the new Time Machine DVD and watched it with him while we grilled steaks. If any of you haven't seen the DVD, I recommend it; it's as good as all their other previous DVD's I've seen (though probably not better than R30).

Since then I've been listening to all of my favorite Rush albums and I seem to be temporarily addicted again.
