Love everything about that tune, especially the intro. :)

The intro always reminds me of Blade Runner for some reason.

A reason I would not disagree with. :)

Glad you like the track as I do. It's amazing. Sonic joy all around. :)

+1

Lifeson's solo is also a particular highlight of Emotion Detector for me. I've always loved his tasteful use of the whammy bar and his musical phrasing that just compliments the song so well.

I can't get enough Moving Pictures. Every Friday after work, as I start my car engine, I always have Tom Sawyer ready and blasting. That's the best way to start any weekend!

Hmmm....wouldn't Red Barchetta be more appropriate? Big smile

My favorite song off Power Windows is Middletown Dreams. I don't know why exactly, but this song sounds steeped in sadness or a feeling of loss of some kind to me.

I absolutely love Rush! I can't believe how high quality of a product they produce even after 40+ years! Their newest album Clockwork Angels is surprisingly one of my favorites. Anyone agree?

Me freaking too!! I've been listening to Rush since I was 17 years old and I haven't stopped since.
I revisit their entire 80's catalog at least 2 times a year.

Yes. These guy's have always been in a class of their own and the fact that they can still produce top shelf music is a testament to their talent.

It's a stellar album and Vapor Trails similarly blew my socks off (especially after the long gap between T4E and it).

The '80s are the best overall decade for Rush, IMO!

I have to echo the love for Emotion Detector.  The Clockwork Angels Tour would have been a great opportunity to pull it out of the vaults.

While that's right up there, I've always liked Grand Designs and Territories a bit more. Of course, the whole albums amazing and is one of my favorite Rush albums (behind Grace Under Pressure).

Indeed. Power Windows is my favorite post Moving Pictures album.

I've been checking out pre-Steve Perry Journey lately (some cool stuff on those albums)

You guys ever hear this? Pay attention to the chord just after the 1 minute mark. What's it sound like to you?

it does sound similar to that main motif from the album, i mean this was released the year before that album.

Bump.

I just got back from a trip to Wyoming for camping and climbing. I listened to the Rush discography from front to back (skipping their debut). It was pretty great.
