sorry for being inactive for sooo long, folks - I'm seeking for job, breaking up with my girl and rehearsing with two bands (for one of which I'm a drummer! ) to play November 22 in Kiev

I promise to upload some video, if anyone's interested

Awww, only those two? Have you even heard La Fin Du Monde? Big smile

Anyways, nice to hear about the new music projects; you'll have offer us a listen after you've done some recording.

Btw, Angel, i checked out "Codes in the Clouds", they're pretty cool; maybe a bit too mellow for my liking, but i'm always happy to hear some new post rock tunes.

Hey Igor, nice to see you around again man!

And f**k, something weird happened with my computer, causing everything from my main folder which had all my music to explode and die. The day before I planned to back it all up lmao.
I realized how much sh*t in there I didn't even like and was just sitting there for no reason, so it's opportunity to start afresh and finally get around to getting all that math rock stuff I said I'd get.

Anyone got their math rock favorites of 2009 (and also perhaps 2008 and 2007) that you can think of to recommend me?

^ Hmm...

So far, this year my fav. would have to be (as i've been raving about :D ) Lite's "Turns Red"; also, their album "Phantasia" was certainly my fav. Math Rock release last year.

For 2007, I'd have to go with "Even In The Midst", by Ahleuchatistas

Evening lads!
I have a very basic question to ask... A post-metal reccomendation, but nothing too extreme!

I'm currently really loving The Pax Cecilia, Maudlin Of The Well and Tool, so I was wondering if I could get a suggestion of something in the genre...

Thanks!
-Joel

I would add Isis' Wavering Radiant to angel's list. Not too heavy, and very, very good.

I'm listening to GY!BE for the first time in like a year and I'm really baffled by how I can go that long. I know they have their critics here, but they're miles above any other post-rock band besides Sigur Ros.

The spoken section Blaise Bailey Finnegan III, just dear God that's great stuff.
"I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones."

I haven't listened to GYBE in like a year too, maybe I should, I found them too atmospheric last time.

Conor Fynes on Miley Cyrus:
"Im suprised progheads insult her... Wasn't she that woman that did guest vocals on 'Coil' from Opeth's Watershed?"

Yeah, i find myself listening to GY!BE atleast once a month. Their style of composing and taste for texture appeal to me immensely for some reason. The same happens to me with Isis and Tool as well  Big smile
