In my opinion, "Six" is one of the most adventurous britpop records of the 90's. It's a pity that Mansun broke up later, actually they recorded 3 albums plus a a large number of EPs. The best of the 3 records positively is "Six" with GREAT influence from the classic psychedelia and also from prog-rock as we know it. This band should appeal any progger who also likes britpop bands like Coldplay. The EPs are very good too with some non-album tracks that are as good as the album tracks, you can find there some live songs and acoustic versions as well.
It would be interesting that some of this britpop bands (Mansun, The Verve, Muse) are included on the Archives, either on the Experimental/Post-Rock category along with Radiohead and Sigur Ros, or with the Prog-Influenced groups.

	Right I've got 'Six' now and my first impression is good.It seems quite surreal in places and the band are strong throughout.Needs a few more listens to digest it properly I expect.

	I've read comments about 'Six' before and always positive ones.I'll have a look on Amazon to see if I can get it.

	Now there's a band I didn't expect to see here....... Saw Mansun many times in the mid/late 90s - my friends would not accept they were influenced by prog - Attack Of The Grey Lantern is a fine album, but you should hear 'Six', their 2nd album - this has a wonderful 8 minute workout called Television, during which there is a guitar break you would swear was being played by Steve Howe

	This now defunct nineties band seem to get a lot of mentions on prog forums.I've got their album 'Attack Of The Grey Lantern' which has the wonderfull track Wide Open Space. I was wondering if anyone here has heard them and could maybe recommend any of their other albums.
