Oh god I hope he isn't, that would sound like ass. No offense but DT isn't in the same league as Meshuggah.

C´mon, the man is an excellent producer, you gotta admit it! And don´t fear, he won´t change Meshuggah... maybe improv themWink

So here's the backstory:
I have a good friend from college who's now living in LA and working for Century Media/Nuclear Blast Records.

The real story:
He called me earlier tonight to tell me he was on his way to the airport to pick up Meshuggah and take them out drinking and then to the label's listening party for ObZen.

No, really.

I. am. so. jealous.

About 1:30 tonight I received a text message from him saying: "New Meshuggah album will rape you".

I am now very excited.

Hopefully I'll get to hear the album soon as well.  This is gonna rock.

That is the coolest story I have ever heard, ever. By the way Bleed from their new album is on the internet, I highly reccomend it, it's like they collected everything they've ever done and put it into a song, and the bass has an important part to play.

obZen I think means "the opposite of zen," or "anti-zen." Basically, what we expect from meshuggah.

I listened to a couple songs off of it on youtube, and I am very excited. It is like chaosphere combined with nothing, if that makes sense. I guess it was lower and more melodic, but just as fast as chaosphere, sort of like I was.

Free T shirt with Pre-Orders for US purchasers!!

MESHUGGAH - Special obZen Pre-Order Offer For US Residents

Swedish metal extremists MESHUGGAH's site reports:

"For a limited time (while supplies last), when fans pre-order a copy of the Meshuggah album (EXCLUSIVELY at FYE), you will receive a FREE Meshuggah – obZen t-shirt with your purchase! This offer is also available at participating stores. Offer good only to US residents."

More details at this location.

Meshuggah recently offered up the new track 'Bleed' for download. The song  is a preview of the band’s forthcoming sixth full-length, obZen, slated for North American release on March 11th via Nuclear Blast.

"Wildly surpassing expectations, the track is an absolute torrent of aggression, melding the technical precision you’ve come to expect from the band, with some of the most taught, punishing riffs of the quintet’s twenty-one year career", says the label.

You can find 'Bleed' at this location.
