Pretty simple, eh?
Both heading polar sides of Modern Prog. Both are much talked about, much hated and much loved. Choose your gods!!! Voted for TOOL surely |

Definitely Radiohead, I don't rate Tool at all.

Wow.....I think for the first time in a poll I will vote for Tool.
Radiohead is really useless to me. Tool is a bit overrated, but still ok to listen to once in a while. I just managed to sit through Lateralus for the first time after like 40 tries. |

Shouldn't this be in the non-prog section? A battle of the two most high profile bands that I don't consider to be prog. Sorry, not a knock on either band, but I just never considered either of them to be prog until I came to PA and was told that they were? Which is cool with me, since Lord knows I am not a qualified authority on what is prog. Commentary over. I think that I dislike Radiohead less than I dislike Tool, so I guess that means that Radiohead gets my vote. Sorry, I must be in a grumpy mood.

Five or six different friends of mine have tried to get me to like Radiohead on multiple distinct occasions, and the more I hear of them the more I think they're overrated. Tool was one of my first favorite bands, one of music's ambassadors to me in my youth.

Tool. Lateralus, while IMO not an unalloyed masterpiece, is definitely one of the best albums of the last decade or so.
Radiohead generally leave me pretty cold, but there's some interesting stuff on Kid A and Amnesiac.

Usual complaint . That's why I've chosen them for this poll. I really am impressed as how much people like TOOL...in compareness to RADIOHEAD . Never liked Tom Yhorke's band, except for one stunning song ("How to disappear completely" ) |

Tool. Radiohead have some great albums, but I think they lost their way with Amnesiac and Hail to The Thief. Thank God In Rainbows shed all that electronic meddling (it worked with OK Computer and Kid A, but too much of a good thing...). Plus, I find Maynard more emotional and raw than Thom, even though Thom is the closest I've ever heard anyone come to sounding like Jeff Buckley.

Tool. i started at the reverse, liking radiohead far more but as ive grown and listened i tend to find myself tiring of radiohead faster and faster. Tool continues to keep my interest, and continues to get more and more of it as i listen. (im sorry band of my youth)

Tool. I love them.
Radiohead is not prog, they are alternative rock, and, as I recall, a couple of the members have stated that they hate the progressive rock label that is put on them, denying that they are prog, and I also believe that Jonny Greenwood has said that he dislikes progressive rock. /rant |
