Topic: Egg hatches after 33 years!Posted: December 08 2007 at 15:46 |

I've received the following news from Egg and Uriel (a.k.a. Arzachel): "
egg - the metronomical society (cd)Egg consisted of Dave Stewart (keyboards), Mont Campbell (bass/vocals) and Clive Brooks (drums). Known for their uncompromising complexity and pinpoint accuracy of performance, the group was one of the most musically adventurous to emerge from the UK underground scene of the late '60s. -"
uriel - arzachel collectors edition (cd)Formed in 1967 at the height of the UK psychedelic scene, Uriel consisted of Steve Hillage (guitar/vocals), Dave Stewart (organ), Mont Campbell (bass/vocals) and Clive Brooks (drums). When Hillage left the band Uriel continued as an organ trio, later changing their name to Egg. "

Oh my God. This is amazing. I only wish I had held off on buying Arzachel until now!
I'll definitely check out Egg though. This is great news, thanks!

Aye, it is. Arzachel isn't the greatest of albums though, except for the final track, so I hope this bonus material is pretty damned good!
The Egg stuff does sound promising though. |

Hmm. I'd go as far to say that Metempsychosis is my least favorite track on Arzachel. Haven't heard any Egg at all, unfortunately, though I've been meaning to. I'll look into this one. |
