I hated Samurai Champloo, and the sound track was terrible (it would have to be to get me to notice it at all).

Just finished Higurashi, an excellent anime but you really do need to watch both seasons or you wont have a clue what was going on in the first.

I found it overly wordy, stretching out the story's far longer than was needed.

The only think I've seen from that series is a very very very dubious toothbrushing scene...

I only got about 7 episodes in before I got tired of it being overly drawn out and would say the fan service was a lot less pervasive than most anime's since 2006. It's still there, but it tends to be used better than usual.

Right now, I'm watching Attack On Titan, Gurren Lagann and Hellsing Ultimate. I want to get back to watching Outlaw Star and rewatch Yu Yu Hakusho.

UPDATE: nevermind, it was the sequel Nisemonogatari, but still.

I couldn't force myself to watch Nisemonogatari - seen a couple of episodes but the formula seems overused and worn out a little in this one... maybe some day, I need to be in a particular mood to watch that kind of stuff ;)

Bakemonogatari (first one in the series, if I'm not mistaken) on the other hand is great. Amazing animation and experimental artistic design + interesting characters.

^ I already saw the first six episodes and everyone of them is breathtaking and shocking but I think that's what makes this anime great and interesting. No spoilers please. Smile

Frankly, I've been following Attack on Titan for a few weeks now, and I... couldn't help... bursting... in... laughter this last friday evening when listening to the dialogues.
I don't know how the original Japanese version sounds, I don't know how the English translation sounds, but if I trust the French dub, the dialogues are utterly grandiloquent and pompous, so pompous it turns ridiculous!

Anyway, I rented the Gatchaman movie, the real one from the 60's/70's and I wouldn't be surprised to enjoy it more than, let's say, Fairy Tail or Magic Kaito (to name a few things broadcasted in France).
