WILLIAM GRAY and NEXUS are two excellent Argentinian bands playing a modern prog rock which relies on the past but doesn't dwell in it too much (though WG is on the heavier, fresher side).
Perhaps not that fair as WG has only one album, while Nexus has several under their belt...

This poll is more for fun and more intended to raise awareness to these two.

Where are my friends from the Symphonic and Unknown Bands Threads? Smile

To all others who don't these bands, they are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

With WG it's not hard, just one album to get; with Nexus, all of their albums are good, but I'd say Metanoia would be a good choice.

Unfortunately, I can't vote. I doubt many people here, own both bands. I like William Gray and Nexus is on my short list of bands to buy shortly. How many Nexus CDs do you own Avestin and Ricochet?
Best of 2006 that I've heard:
PFM-Stati Di Immaginazione
Zenit-Surrender (Best "unknown" album)
Oaksenham - Conquest of Pacific
2007:
Phideaux - Doomsday Afternoon
La Torre Del Alchimista - Neo

Nexus have released several albums to William Gray's one, but I think I prefer WG because they really showed that a symphonic album in the 21st century doesn't have to sound like a throwback to the '70s.  Living Fossils is a rock opera without being overly derivative, cheesy, or drawn-out.  I love the merging of heavy church organ with metal riffing, the only small draw-back is the heavy Argentinian accent on the English vocals - not a big deal really.

2 Nexus, 1 William Gray - to answer Dalt's question.
