I don`t know what the future of the band is with the passing of key member Peter Panka last summer but these guys put out some of the coolest groovin`psychedelic artrock during the seventies. Their music wasn`t complex but it made you feel happy and you could just lose yourself in their music. Some of my faves were Hangman, Out In The Rain, Comin`Again and Early In The Morning. Fire Warter Earth & Air was just as prog as any band could be in the seventies and I noticed that it gets great reviews here.

I've wanted something by them, especially the debut on LP (the artwork is so cool I have to get the vinyl), for a while now but unfortunately I always either get sniped on eBay or the price goes too high.   Alas, I'll get it one day.

The only album of them i have heard is Live at Home, which i find to be a worth listening, there are actually some great moments.

I know it is better to start with an studio album rather than a live one, but anyways...

I just rebought the vinyl last December pazrtly because I love the ^Picasso-esque album

Otherwise, I like their debut the best, but Here We Are has two solid long tracks. III and Jane have progressive artworks , but I find these rather weak. Then comes their so-called proggier era Heaven & Hell and Earth Water Air & Fire, but they don't strike as enthralling.

I always linked Jane to Hammond-driven German hard rock like Birth Control or Murphy Blend, Epitaph (I think these guys are not in yet...Shocked) >>> Just checked. We'll have to correct this glaring missionWink

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

Actually this is a great place to start. One of my favourite live albums of all time!
