Correct, Assaf (except for the 'h' in Teo ). Glad to see that, although the PMT members have not joined in, my suggestion/action to include the band name in the thread title does indeed attract more people to the discussion. |

Personally I would see this as a grave move. I heard their new album last year after not listening to them since their 'Enthrone Darkness Triumphant' attempt. I unfortunately come from a background where there was a lot of hate for the band, so this could slightly change my perception, but not too much as to dismiss them on personal opinions alone. For someone who has spent a lot of time with the Black Metal genre (I would struggle to called what DB do these days BM) they sound backwards (to my ears) with all the interesting material being produced by the so called post-black metal band, it leaves DB's releases looking disposable.

This is true, partially. Because Prog Metal is not a part of Prog but of Metal we must take account of this. Indeed with the new division Dimmu Borgir fit brush as a band Progressive Black Metal, while previously were too far from the definition that was given to Prog Metal since the vision was too much on the side of Prog and many inclusion of bands Were poorly tolerated because they were simply Extreme Prog Metal. But if we look good as a band like Dimmu Borgir we discover that the new definition also includes their musical experiences.
And I speaking with the experience of who has listened carefully and understood Dimmu Borgir.
This I wanted to say with my previous post. Edited by Mandrakeroot - February 18 2008 at 04:43 |
