WOW a really great list! very interesting, nice work!

but for me the best album ever is "an evening with John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess" although its not really prog and just instrumental... Wink

and many of the mentioned albums i have to listen to..

My biggest surprice is that Peter Gabriel is doing rather bad, nothing in top 200, and only 2 albums on the list. Thought he would be up there in top 20

Yeah but this is the prog rock poll that places straight ahead jazz albums and other non prog albums above classics of the genre.  As a measure of prog rock it is pointless.  So Gabriel might not be in the top 200, but don't worry because the poll is bullsh*t.

Agree... there are really some things like Guns'n'Roses out there in the list... and Radiohead over the #40... pure cr*p... sorry... not agree...

Once again, this is not a prog rock poll. This is a music poll with no limits whatsoever.

Actually it was done again this year. For some reason the 2008 version is still sticky and the newer one has sunk down to the bottom of the thread pile.

So when Goldie-prog listened to Roger Waters, she said "this lyricist is overrated." And when Goldie-prog listened to Ian Anderson, she exclaimed "this lyricist is underrated." But when Goldie-prog listened to Peter Gabriel, she squealed "this lyricist is rated just right!"

Great list, but I think it was made before 2009, because nothing from this year is in it....

Yeah, all the albums in this list were voted on at the back end of 2007. A second list was voted on at the end of 2008 and the results were posted middle of last year, you might find it if you search long enough.

I was going to give moreitsythanyou a hand with a third list at the start of this year but he's been absent since around Xmas.
