From: Dominican Republic
Members: Pablo Peña, Kilvin Peña, and Jonás Piña Duluc
Genre:  No set genre, fits into Crossover (Art Rock), Jazz Fusion, and Prog-related

Bio (by Jonás):
El Trío: Dominican Rock band formed by Jonás (guitar and voice), drummer Pablo Peña and bass player Kilvin Peña. Our music is rock that expands into fusion and prog-like territories without straying too far from the song form. We put a strong emphasis in composition, songwriting, improvisation and melding our musical heritage with foreign influences. Main references: Soda Stereo, Soundgarden, Luis Días, King Crimson, Screaming Headless Torsos, Fito Páez, Peter Gabriel, Juan Luis Guerra. We also owe a lot to the classic power trio sound of bands like The Hendrix Experience and Cream.
"Siempre que hay un corazón..." is our first studio opus and it has been released independently. We are looking for a distribution contract and/or an international management contract that could help us to take our career to the next level. We are already working on our second album and also on a new live material compilation.

Album:
Siempre que hay un corazon

My Comments:  Jonás contacted me with his band, and I was immediately impressed.  I myself listen to jazz somewhat often, being an ex-member of my high school jazz band.  This music has a very cool Latin flavor to it, but also with the inclusion of some more complicated material.  I'll be getting a copy of their album soon, so I can do a more in depth review later.  Some cool songs to start with are Vaina de Aqui and Punto Aparte.  Cool band Thumbs%20Up
